Columbia, representing 100 chambers of commerce and boards of trade, and 36,000
businesses of every size, and from every sector and region of the province. With
a rich history that spans 70 years, the BC Chamber of Commerce is an established
voice in the business community and has helped shape government public policy
and decision-making to empower British Columbia’s businesses. In this

Business Improvement Areas of British Columbia
Business Improvement Areas of British Columbia (BIABC) is the provincial
champion of strong, vibrant and successful downtowns, main streets and
commercial districts throughout our province. Our members together represent
more than 70 business districts that employ hundreds of thousands of retail,
service and office employees within their defined business districts. Mostly
small- and medium-sized businesses, they are part of maintaining your
community’s excellence and highest quality of livability.

Collingwood Business Improvement Association
The Collingwood Business Improvement Association develops and implements a
variety of business building and community enhancement programs. From community
events to street beautification, and safety programs to merchant promotions, the
Collingwood BIA is committed to serving its members and contributing to the
sustainability of the community. Our programs are carried out under the
leadership and guidance of a dedicated group of volunteers who make up the
Collingwood BIA board of directors and the Collingwood BIA staff.

The Downtown Vancouver Association (DVA) is a member-based organization of
individuals, community organizations and businesses. The association has a rich
history representing business and community interests primarily related to urban

We plan, promote, and provide a ton of services to our members and the greater
community. This includes public safety, events, placemaking, and so much more.
In true Gastown nature, we are one of the oldest BIA’s in the city (also making
us one of the wisest in the game). We are a catalyst for positive change,
helping to address broader planning, economic and social initiatives – all with
an influential voice. Partnerships are also an integral part of our success. We
are one of 22 BIA’s in Vancouver and get along extremely well with all of our
neighbours.
